Rates
What are your rates and how do you calculate your fees?
I prefer to bill by project (also called flat fee billing) rather than by the hour because I just feel it’s in the client’s best interest. With flat fee pricing, you know upfront what you’re getting and how much it will cost you before you commit to anything. And you never have to hesitate calling me, worried about some kind of hourly meter running.
TAX RETURN PREPARATION & FILING
Tax returns vary by the completeness of your accounting records and the degree of tax complexity. Generally, and the better shape your books are in and the fewer forms & schedules I’m required to complete & file, the lower the cost of preparing the return.
For individual tax returns, or for those very small businesses reported on Schedule C, I charge between $87 and $367 per year, depending on complexity.
For corporations, LLC, and partnerships, I generally charge $397 – $697 per year for a business tax return, again depending on its complexity and completeness of your accounting records.

These prices assume you have legible, legal, and properly closed books prepared and available. Return preparation doesn’t include any bookkeeping. Also, I don’t provide any assurance of business viability, longevity, or legality of operation; that is, I don’t audit your books.
Filing quarterly or monthly sales tax returns as well as weekly or monthly bookkeeping services can also be provided for additional charge.
THE “FREE QUICKIE” OFFER
Whether you’re a client or not, I’m even willing to answer any quickie arts business or tax question you might have… for free! Here’s the catch: you must be a subscriber to my free monthly newsletter, and the question must be broad enough that I can share the answer with my other newsletter readers (without any of your personal information, of course). Such a deal, no?
